The Trip

Discover some of Mexico and Guatemala's most attractive colonial cities on this 15-day tour. History comes alive as you marvel at the architecture, fantastic churches, colourful markets and beautiful beaches of the region.

Brief Itinerary

Day 1 Arrive Mexico City
Arrive in Mexico City at any time.

Day 2 Mexico City
Explore one of the world's largest metropolitan areas or take an optional day trip to the famous archaeological site of Teotihuacán.

Day 3 Puebla
Visit Puebla, famous for its hand-painted tiles, unique handicrafts, mouth-watering Mole Poblano and rich colonial history.

Day 4-5 Oaxaca
The colourful and lively markets and impressive Zapotec ruins of Monte Albán are just two of many reasons to visit wonderful Oaxaca.

Day 6-8 Puerto Escondido
Travel to the Pacific coastal town of Puerto Escondido, famed for its waves that attract surfers from around the world. Visit the many nearby beaches for surfing, swimming, fishing, or perhaps explore a nearby lagoon to observe marine birds and other wildlife in the mangroves.

Day 9-10 San Cristóbal de las Casas
San Cristóbal is an architectural gem with cobblestone streets and colonial style. Opt for a side-trip to some of the outlying villages to visit some local homes and learn about day-to-day Mayan life.

Day 11-12 Panajachel
We cross the border and head south into Guatemala to travel to the shores of Lake Atitlán. Volcanoes and small indigenous villages surround this pristine lake, truly one of the most beautiful spots in Central America.

Day 13-14 Antigua
Once the seat of the Spanish colonial government, Antigua was the most important city in all of Central America. Climb still-smoking Pacaya Volcano, take a bike tour through the surrounding towns and coffee plantations, or simply enjoy the cafes and shopping. Take a stroll along the beautiful colonial streets to soak it all in.
