AccommodationHotels/guesthouses (12 nts), camping (1 nt), overnight train (1 nt)
Some of the accommodation along the way are very basic, staying in local guesthouses and homestays with limited facilities. Some facilities are shared and some accommodation has cold water only.
The style of accommodation described in the day to day itinerary is a guideline. On rare occasions, alternative arrangements may need to be made due to the lack of availability of rooms in our usual accommodation. A similar standard of accommodation will be used in these instances.
Accommodation on this trip is on a twin/multi share basis. Please note there may be times when you share a room with passengers travelling on different Intrepid trips than your own.
Throughout the trip we request that our hotels prepare rooms in time for our arrival, especially if we are arriving prior to normal check in time. However this is not always possible which means we will not be able to check-in immediately on arrival at some hotels. Instead, we can store our luggage and explore our new destination.
Sleeper trains are clean and air-conditioned, a great way to travel long distances and still get maximum time in each place. Beds are padded berths, sheets, pillow and blanket are provided but some people prefer to bring their own sleeping sheet. Please note you may be sharing with locals in a same gender / mixed gender situation. Most trains have a dining carriage where food/snacks/meals are available.
Single travellers share with people of the same sex for the duration of the trip, in accommodation ranging from twin to multi-share.

MealsWhile travelling with us you will experience the vast array of wonderful food available in the world. Generally, to give you the maximum flexibility in deciding where, what and with whom to eat, not all meals are included in the trip price. This also gives you more budgeting flexibility. As a rule our groups tend to eat together to enable you to taste a larger variety of dishes and enjoy each other's company. There is no obligation to do this though. Your group leader will be able to suggest favourite restaurants during your trip. Please check the 'meal inclusions' section below for details of meals included.
Allow USD $300 for meals not included.
Meals Included: 3 Breakfasts, 2 Dinners

Important InfoPlease Note For departures which are in Pushkar during the annual Camel fair (approximately October/November). The Pushkar Camel Fair is undoubtedly one of the most vibrant festivals one can attend in India and we will do its utmost to bring the fair to you in all its glory! However the dates of the Camel fair can often vary within a day or two of the dates provided by the organisers. We have selected these dates based on research collected from the following websites.
www.destinationtravelindia.com
www.pushkar-camel-fair.com
www.indiatourism.com/pushkar-fair
Due to the uncertain and flexible nature of festivals in India we cannot take responsibility for the Fair ending earlier than the advertised dates. Also Pushkar hotels take this opportunity to raise their prices triple fold. Unfortunately they often do this more than a few days before and after the advertised dates of the fair.
Departures that coincide with the fair will be subject to increased prices. These will be applied at time of booking.
Please note this does NOT ensure that you will witness the Fair or that accommodation will be at our normal Hotel. Although we make booking months in advance, unfortunately at this time Pushkar accommodation also tend to over book themselves so we also ask for a flexible approach from our travellers who choose to visit this spectacular event with us.
Please Note: Your trip finishes on arrival into Delhi on day 15. If you are departing India today its best to book your flight for later in the afternoon as train delays do occur.
Ranthambhore National Park is CLOSED between 1 July and 30 September each year. On those trips affected, we will spend an EXTRA night in Bundi. Camping is closed during 1st April till 30th September, during this period we spend both the nights at Castle Bijaipur.
The Taj Mahal in Agra is closed on Fridays.
Please note that heat and humidity during summer (Apr-Jun) in India can be particularly oppressive with temperatures reaching 45 degrees C/113 degrees F.
