Day 1 Arrive SanurTravelers will be arriving at different times during the day so feel free to arrive at the joining point at any time as there are no planned activities, apart from our group meeting at around 6pm and an optional dinner afterwards.
Days 2-3 Taman Ayun/ Tanah Lot/ UbudToday we drive 1 hour to Ubud, the cultural centre of Balinese life. You have free time to explore the moss-covered temples, museums and art galleries. Its artistic heritage stems from when the small kingdom became a Dutch protectorate in 1900. Surrounded by lush jungles, rice paddies, and rivers, it would be difficult not to be inspired.
In the evening maybe try Gianyr night market to try some local cuisine.
Days 4-5 LovinaA 4 hour drive up to Bali’s northern coast takes us to Lovina. Set upon a stretch of black volcanic sand beach, this laid back town is pure escape from the usual Bali beach experience. With the only people on the beach being the occasional fisherman preparing his prahu outrigger canoe, Lovina is a far cry from some of the more developed parts of the island.
Here you have an option to take a pre-dawn dolphin cruise, which is the highlight of many travelers’ stays in Lovina. Beyond the reef, boats gather at dawn to witness the spectacular sunrise over Bali’s volcanoes. Dolphins surround the boats, sometimes leaping in to the air and showing off. Spend the afternoon snorkeling or scuba diving amongst the breathtaking coral reefs and grottoes that surround the coast.
Days 6 KintamaniA short, scenic drive takes us to the highland town of Kintamani. At over 1500 meters above sea level, this village boasts great produce and a temperate climate, much cooler than the beach areas.
Day 7 Besakih/ Semarapura/ SanurReturn to Sanur today, stopping at Basakih Temple, the premire Hindu site in Bali, and also take a walk through the floating pavilions of Semarapura. Spend the evening on the beautiful white sandy beaches, reflecting on your past week's adventure under a Balinese sunset.
Day 8 Depart SanurYou are free to depart at any time today.
