Swastika Bungalows
Jalan Danau Tamblingan 128
Sanur, Denpasar
Bali, Indonesia

When arriving at Denpasar Airport in Bali you will want to exit Customs into the arrival hall. Once here, there are money changers but they do not offer the best rate, so its best to wait until you arrive in Sanur. There are ATMs available that distribute Indonesian Rupiah (the local currency).

Once you have stepped outside, there is a taxi stand with set rate taxis to various destinations on the island. The prices are listed on the wall and can be paid in Rupiah or in US Dollars (your exchange rate will be slightly lower than what you will get in Sanur) Here you book and pay for your taxi and receive a voucher. They will then show you to your taxi.

The drive to Sanur is approximately 30 minutes, but can take much longer if the traffic is bad.

What to Take
What to Take

We suggest that you pack as lightly as possible as your are expected to carry your own luggage. As a rule we try not to have to walk more than 15-20 mintues with your bags which is why we recommend keeping the weight of your bags between 10-15kg/22-30lb. Suitcases are not recommended for our trips! Most travellers carry a backpack or rolling bag of small to medium size (no XXL ones please!) as they need to fit with you in buses or on trains. You will also need a day pack/bag to carry water, cameras and other electronics like ipods and mobile phones. If your trip involves overnights in homestays, villages or camping then you usually have the opportunity to rent sleeping bags if need be instead of bringing them with you.

Health & Safety
Health & Safety

For vaccinations please visit the MDtravelhealth website.

Sun:
It is very important that you wear sun block, even on a cloudy day when it feels cool as we are near the equator and the sun is very strong. A sunburn can turn a pleasant trip into a painful trip.

Hydration
Even when days are cool please be sure to drink a minimum of two litres of water and refrain from drinking to many diuretics, as while when travelling outdoors the breeze can dehydrate you quickly as well as the heat.

Diarrhoea:
It is normal for people travelling overseas to get an upset stomach due to a change of climate and food. Please make sure that you wash your hands and stay away from street food.
