Accommodation
Accommodation

Hotels/guesthouses (4 nts), family-share bed and breakfast (3 nts), camping (1 nt), homestay (2 nts)

Some of the accommodation along the way is very basic, staying in local guesthouses and homestays with limited facilities. Some facilities are shared and some accommodation has cold water only.

Accommodation on this trip is on a twin/multi share basis. Please note there may be times when you share a room with passengers travelling on different Intrepid trips than your own.

For families on trips we make use of triple and quad rooms (where available and required). Please note that on occasions additional beds may be fold-away beds or portable beds. If there is a family of 3 with 2 adults with 1 child, it may not be possible to use triple rooms. In these cases, one of the adults will share with the child and the other adult will share with another adult passenger in your group. If there are 2 adults travelling with 2 children, for safety and security reasons 1 adult will share with 1 child at all destinations on this trip.

Meals
Meals

While travelling with us you will experience the vast array of wonderful food available in the world. Generally, to give you the maximum flexibility in deciding where, what and with whom to eat, not all meals are included in the trip price. This also gives you more budgeting flexibility. As a rule our groups tend to eat together to enable you to taste a larger variety of dishes and enjoy each other's company. There is no obligation to do this though. Your group leader will be able to suggest favourite restaurants during your trip. Please check the 'meal inclusions' section below for details of meals included.

Allow USD $150 for meals not included.

Important Info
Important Info

Please Note | The important month long Ramadan festival will be in progress from 22nd August 2009. This is a festival of sacrifice where the devout refrain from eating or drinking during daylight hours. During Ramadan business hours are shortened, including opening hours at all popular tourist attractions. Alcohol is not permitted during daylight hours and many restaurants will be closed. While you definitely need to expect some delays and inconveniences during this period, the month of Ramadan is a fantastic month to travel in Muslim countries as it offers a chance to witness this fascinating Islamic event and the nightly celebrations when the sun sets and the fast is broken.

Our family adventures are designed for families only (ie at least one parent or legal guardian and at least one child.) The minimum age for children is 6 years old. All adults and/or guardians are fully responsible for their children throughout the duration of the trip. We allow a maximum of 2 children per adult and a maximum of 2 adults per child.

Please note that while we operate successful trips throughout the year, some changes may occur in our itineraries due to inclement weather and common seasonal changes to timetables.
