  • The USA is home to over 300 million people, the west coast neighbours the Pacific and the eastern Seaboard borders the Atlantic.

New York, Chicago, Seattle and San Francisco are among many cities that are well worth visiting.  To experience ‘America’s Playground’, head for the neon lights and razzmatazz of Las Vegas in Nevada.  Las Vegas is a four hour drive east of Los Angeles in close proximity to both the Hoover Dam and the wondrous Grand Canyon (Arizona).  The Canyon is situated in Arizona and over 5 million visitors per year pay homage to the enormous 277 mile (446km) gorge.

Over 300 wonderfully preserved National Parks are testament to the fact that there is plenty to experience outdoors in the USA.   In the old ‘Wild West’ states such as Arizona and Colorado offer the chance to live as a genuine Cowboy for a week or two on a ranching holiday.  If you prefer to travel on four wheels rather than four legs, there are many spectacular drives such as the Route 66 between Chicago and Los Angeles and the Pacific Coast drive between Los Angeles and San Francisco through the windy cliffs of Big Sur.

There are many popular ski and snowboard resorts in the USA which are no way near as crowded as their European counterparts.  Colorado is a great place to head for snow with the resorts of Vail; Aspen and Breckenridge.  Other key spots include Lake Tahoe (in the Sierra Nevada Mountains, California) and Whiteface Mountain near Lake Placid (New York).
