  • Tanzania (or United Republic of Tanzania) covers 378,000 square miles (945,000 square kilometres).  In the North East the country is mountainous and is home to Mount Kilimanjaro the highest peak in Africa and world’s highest freestanding mountain.  In the North and East of Tanzania, Lake Victoria, the largest lake in Africa and the largest tropical lake in the world flows in from Uganda. 

    Tanzania is the largest country in East Africa and borders 8 countries - Uganda, Kenya, Mozambique, Malawi, Zambia, Democratic Republic of Congo, Burundi and Rwanda.

    Religion is split between Christian, Muslim and traditional African beliefs.
