- Malawi is surrounded by the countries of Zambia, Mozambique and Tanzania.
It is home to one of Africa's and the worlds' largest lakes and it is this Lake, Lake Malawi that attracts the most visitors due to its abundant fish and wildlife and water activities including diving, snorkeling and fishing.
Independent from the British since 1964, Malawi is mountainous to the north and low lying in the south with Lake Malawi to the east.
The country is home to some of the friendliest people you can meet.
