  • Madagascar was separated from the continent of Africa over 165 Million years ago.
    It is the 4th largest island in the world and has a rich wildlife, a lot of which is unique.

    Madagascar lies 300 miles (500km) off the coast of Mozambique.  The country has large rainforests, high mountains and excellent beaches.   The Hauts Plateaux, a chain of mountains, stretches along the centre of the island.


    Around 60 different species of Lemur live on the island of Madagascar and around 80% of its wildlife are only found here.  The plants and trees are some of the weirdest and amazing in the world and the beautiful beaches and coral reefs make Madagascar a truly wonderful place to visit.
