  • The islands of Cape Verde sit off the coast of Senegal in West Africa and offer a great paradise beach destination.   There are around 10 main islands and a number of smaller ones.

    Independence was achieved on Cape Verde around 1975 after a history of Portuguese settlers and African Slave trade.

    With a total population of under half a million, the islands of Cape Verde (which are all volcanic) include Fogo which erupted in 1995.

    Each island offers something slightly different but the Afro-Portuguse culture and music are all around.  As are the simply amazing beaches with great water sports activities and opportunties to get away from it all.
